Hundreds of leather shoes, including children’s shoes, were uncovered at Borgund. “We really don’t know that much about ordinary people’s ordinary lives in other places than the big towns,” explains archaeologist Gitte Hansen, who manages the project. The Borgund Project has set out to change that. History has long overlooked the lives of ordinary people-craftspeople, laborers, women, and children. The Borgund Project brings together an international team of historians, archaeologists, geologists, and others to tell Borgund’s story. For most of us, it’s hard to picture life in this town entombed in dirt-that’s where the Borgund Project comes in. Children playing along wooden sidewalks might have been overheard by weavers crafting massive sail cloths within their small wooden houses. During the town’s heyday, boatbuilders would have been busy crafting majestic ships, while traders hawked their wares. Beginning in the late 10th century, this meadow would have been alive with activity. But this meadow has secrets to tell.īeneath the undulating greenery and centuries of mud are the remains of the lost town of Borgund. With impressive mountains and a crystalline lake in the distance, many wouldn’t even notice the blanket of grasses. We were making dinner while playing so was a bit distracted - we got 2 hours of play out of this. Logic, mazes, observation and translation was all kind of puzzles represented. We were not fans of a puzzle with a periodic table and one with water temperature, but other than those we liked the puzzles. Piecing together the clues for the puzzles required lots of communication, but the puzzles were not difficult, so progress was easily made. Especially the story-telling part - show don't tell - and the fact that it felt more like being in a room (though 2d) and not just looking down on a flat surface with objects to work on. We also played their earlier game "Unboxing." and feel that they have improved their style in so many ways. We love collaborative puzzles and since this is the classic 2-player collaborative game, we really liked it. Solve the riddles to find clues to the case.
