It is said that every 70 years the Skull Heart will grant one girl’s wish, but if that girl is not pure of heart, she will find herself instead transformed into a powerful monster known as the Skullgirl. Skullgirls is an nearly flawless adaptation of the original game that retains the excellent graphics (they're practically identical to the other versions) and adapts its comprehensive combo system perfectly for touch devices. You can even unlock special moves for the characters you already have on your roster. As you play and win fights, however, you'll earn new characters. When you first start out, you'll only have access to three different characters, which is the exact number you can bring into each fight. It's all very intuitive and perfectly explained in the game's tutorial. If you want to initiate aerial combat, for example, just slide your fingers up and start to tap on the screen. To attack your opponent, on the other hand, just tap the right side. To defend yourself from attacks, all you have to do is tap both sides of the screen. The classic attack buttons and D-pad have been replaced with taps and simple gestures on the screen.
